Tutoring sessions are:
Alex Kelly, a real student, was a struggling sixth grader, earning D’s and E’s at our local public middle school. He was diagnosed with dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and attention deficit disorder. Alex attended our Daytime Tutoring Program for three years, grades 6, 7, and 8. Then, Alex attended an all-boys prestigious high school, while attending evening tutoring, and earned A’s and B’s. Alex pursued the college of his choice and earned academic scholarships. Alex graduated from Robert Morris University, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and enlisted in the United States Army, as Infantryman. Alex is transitioning from Military Life to Civilian; Alex completed the Police Academy and is pursuing a career of his choice. Alex was an enrolled tutoring student from 6th grade through college graduation. Alex has given permission for his story to be published on our website.
Cailey, a current junior at our local technical high school, began tutoring at the end of fifth grade. She has comprehension difficulties and learning disabilities. Cailey does not understand directions given in class. Cailey wants to become a professional chef.
John, a student for fourteen and one half consecutive years, began at Noah’s Ark as a kindergartner. He was diagnosed with multiple learning disabilities, dyslexia, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. John, graduated as a twelfth grader at our local public high school and aspires to learn a vocational trade.
Cooper, a ninth grader, attended our Daytime Tutoring Program. He was diagnosed with dyslexia and a writing learning disability. Cooper now attends a prestigious all-boys private high school and maintains A and B grades.
Brittany, a second grader, has been attending Noah’s Ark, for a year. She has been struggling with reading and comprehension. Brittany is now reading on grade level. Brittany is receiving Orton-Gillingham instruction.
Last year, Lynn, a fourth grader was not challenged in public school. Lynn’s parents were told that she had borderline abilities and was nearly uneducable. Now, Lynn has learned large addition and subtraction, the multiplication tables, and numerous digits times one digit. Lynn is reading on a third grade level and completing writing worksheets. Lynn is making academic progress and improvements!
Emma, an adult nursing student, utilized the study skill strategies offered at Noah's Ark Academic Tutoring, Inc. Emma successfully passed the weekly assessments and graduated with a nursing degree.
Sarah, an eighth grade student, studied at Noah's Ark to prepare for a private high school entrance exam, particularly the mathematics/Algebra section and the grammar section. After two months of dedicated studying, she passed with an 86% score.
Evan, a struggling sixth grader, had been homeschooled for his entire school career. He was diagnosed with dyslexia. Evan attended our Daytime Tutoring Program for three years, grades 6, 7, and 8. Then, Evan attended an all-boys prestigious high school. Evan earned A's in high school, with a GPA: Grade Point Average of 4.0. He was an active Student Government participant and even fulfilled the role of President of his junior and senior year. Evan pursued the college of his choice, earning academic scholarships. Evan graduated from Loyola University, in Baltimore, Maryland and has pursued a career in business and finance.
